The Physical Education and Exercise Science Studies program is a perfect start for someone who is looking to turn their passion for sports, fitness, and wellness into a career.   Upon completion students will have a strong background in the field and be prepared to continue their training and education in an area of their choosing.

What You Will Learn

The coursework will prepare you with the background knowledge and skills that are the foundation for a bachelors degree in a sports, fitness, or wellness program.  Courses include anatomy, physiology, exercise science, psychology, and liberal arts.   As a graduate you will be able to:
 

  • Write and develop lesson plans
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Conduct fitness assessments
  • Develop exercise programs
  • Provide instruction of athletic skills

What It Is Like

The program prepares students for careers in health and fitness fields by providing far more than instruction in sport play. Learning the basics of science and communication skills provides the springboard to interact with instructors and students in order to disseminate accepted theories while dismissing common misconceptions about health and fitness. The program provides a first step in many possible careers.

Where It Can Take You

Upon completion you will be ready to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program in physical education, exercise science, or other fitness/health-related curricula. This degree program has transfer agreements with the colleges listed below. This means you can start your degree here and finish it there without losing credits.
