Your heart pounds in anticipation at the idea of "scrubbing in" for a surgical procedure. Good thing: the need for skilled surgical technologists has never been greater than it is right now. Surgical Technologists function in association with nurses and surgeons to help provide high-quality care of the surgical patient. Even if you have no prior experience in the medical field, you will be well prepared for employment after completing this Surgical Technology Certificate program which is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, (CAAHEP). You will learn how to scrub and assist during operating procedures. You will also learn how to prepare, maintain, clean and store instruments. Most importantly, you will learn to become a valuable component of a surgical team, that will deliver high level care to the patient population. Curriculum >
Learning Outcomes >
You will be part of a small, but dedicated class of 24 members. You will work together and individually to learn skills and techniques, both in theory and in practice. Because our class sizes are small, you will have access to individualized instruction materials and plenty of one-on-one support along the way. Course Descriptions >
After graduation, you will be well prepared for a career as a surgical technologist in an operating room or surgeon's office. This certificate program is also a good starting point for a career as a nurse, physician's assistant or surgeon's assistant. At the completion of the program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Certifying Exam administered by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Program Outcome Information >
