Onondaga offers a unique program that allows students to learn the theory portion of the program independently outside of traditional classroom settings through self-paced modules with supportive guidance from faculty. Students design their own structure for gathering and learning information and for mastering new skills, thus preparing them to act confidently and independently in the workforce when they graduate. You will learn and practice your skills in the classroom and through clinical experience in hospitals and community agencies. Since most of our students are non-traditional students, the program offers flexible pacing to accommodate family, work and community commitments. The program also offers an advanced standing option for licensed practical nurses and students transferring nursing courses from other programs. Successful students are those who can work independent from a structured classroom environment.Course Descriptions >

"I chose nursing because I wanted a better understanding of some health issues in my family. Onondaga's program provided the flexibility I needed to learn and still be available to help my family with these issues." ~Shanda
