Interior design is about harmonizing space within the built environment that surrounds it. Furnishings, fixtures, finishes, and other elements of design have aesthetic appeal, but they can also improve quality of life, increase productivity, and enhance the overall functionality of a space.Official Program Description >
You will learn to understand the elements of design and how people use and respond to them. You will think through a design challenge and present it to your peers. You will experience firsthand the real-world tools and technologies used today. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students and faculty in this as well as other related disciplines. You will learn firsthand how design concepts can be made viable in the real world. Many students choose to continue their studies at a four-year school upon graduation. You will also be prepared to begin work as an interior designer's assistant or as an assistant in an architectural firm.Career Paths >Job Placement >
