The Nuclear Technology A.A.S. degree program at Onondaga Community College prepares graduates for entry-level positions as technicians for the nuclear power industry. Based on the Uniform Curriculum Guide for Nuclear Power Plant Technicians, the program’s classroom and laboratory coursework will emphasize the instrumentation and control systems applicable to the nuclear industry. Additional “hands-on” experiences may be gained through a summer internship at Constellation Energy Nuclear Group’s power plants. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the license examination administered by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
