For those students interested in further study of world languages, the Modern Languages Department now offers a Minor in World Languages.
Courses are offered from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm and are taught by instructors with extensive teaching experience and who are fluent in the language and culture taught. They are more than willing to give students individual attention and guidance if needed.
Students should refer to SUNY and OCC's Foreign Language Requirements and the Modern Language Placement Policy for placement into language courses. Students taking a foreign language to fulfill their NYS teaching certification requirements should visit the State Education Department site.
Want to be a tutor? The department needs good language tutors. You do not have to be a native speaker, only have taken the course for which you would like to tutor and have done well in it. A few other conditions do apply. If you are interested please contact the Content Tutoring Center at 315 498-2573 or go directly to C342. To see the Language Lab schedule, click here.
